
Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great fervor to commemorate 151st birth anniversary of “The Father of the Nation.” A webinar was organized on the day entitled “Non-Violence, Aesthetic Values, Peace for Well Being.” Various activities like Slogan Writing Competition, Elocution Competition, Poster Making Competition, Poem Recitation Competition and Debate Competition were organized in which students of all University Schools participated with great enthusiasm.
Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor paid tributes to Bapu Gandhi on the occasion. He related how the ideologies of Mahatma became mainsprings to free Indians of tyrannical, barbaric, and ruthless rule of the British and drove India to regain its independence.
Dr. Tejinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor analysed in detail Mahatma’s Principles, which are a guiding force for whole of the world even in present times. The emphasis was given on Swachh Bahrat Abhiyan so as to follow Gandhi’s ideals in everybody’s life and preserve for the generations as well.
Dr. Surjeet Kaur Patheja, Director University School of Education shared her views on “Peace for Well Being.” Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, Director University School of Engineering expressed her thoughts on “Non-Violence Promotes Happiness” while Dr. Puja Gulati, Principal University School of Pharmacy spoke on “Aesthetic Values: Satyam, Shivam Sundram.”
Dr. Kulbhushan, Director University School of Ayurveda and Dr. J.S. Bhatia, Director University School of Management supported the view of “Importance of National Integration” in his speech.
