School of Hotel Management & Tourism at Desh Bhagat University organized Colorful Cooking Competition on the theme of Holi on 15th March 2022. The competition was focused on colorful cooking and presentation. The students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm and a tough competition was fought out among 18 teams. The students displayed their carving skills along with culinary skills. Dr. A.S. Bedi, Director, Dr. Sukhdeep HoD, and Mr. Rakesh Assistant Professor, School of Hotel Management and Tourism were the judges for the competition. The first position was secured by Team 11- Harsimran and Jashandeep, closely followed by Team 15- Khushdeep and Navpreet which bagged the second position. The third position was won by Team 17- Jashanpreet and Gagandeep.
Cooking needs a lot of patience, hard work, and love for the profession. The chefs not only give flavors to food but make food more tempting by a colorful presentation. The event not only provided a platform for the students to foster their creativity and decision-making skills but also helped them explore their hidden talents and discover new areas of interest. They exhibited tremendous work in the competition. Dr. Sanjeev Kalia, Registrar distributed the prizes to winners. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor DBU congratulated young chefs who displayed their talent by presenting numerous innovative “colorful dishes”. Dr. Zora Singh further added that chefs can put soul in the dishes. Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor DBU also congratulated the winners and wished them Happy Holi.
