International Women's Day is celebrated globally on March 8th every year, commemorating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This day gives an opportunity to honor the acts of courage exhibited by women who have played a significant role across the globe.
On the occasion of International Women's Day 2022, Gender Champion Club and NSS Club in collaboration with S. Lal Singh Memorial Institute of Nursing, School of Pharmacy, School of Ayurveda, Desh Bhagat Dental College and Hospital, Department of Computer Science and Application celebrated International Women's Day on 8th March 2022 to appreciate and honor all the incredible women across the world.
The Chief Guest of the day, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor DBU Dr. Tajinder Kaur inaugurated the function by the lighting of the lamp along with other dignitaries. The Inauguration of the models and poster exhibition was done by the chief guest .she appreciated the efforts of students and their creativity. She said that gender equality is the first step to empowering women. Revolutionary changes are coming but women need to motivate themselves to be a part of the change. A Special address was done by Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor DBU. He focused on the use of IEDC and empowering creativity and innovations. He highlighted the role and importance of women in the development of society. Special guests Mr. Pritpal Dhilon and Mr. Shiv Kanwar Singh graced the occasion and appreciated women's strength and courage with references through poetry.
The Students of S. Lal Singh Memorial Institute of Nursing, in coordination with the School of Pharmacy, Department of Dental, and School of Ayurveda staged a beautiful cultural program to entertain everyone through various performances. Felicitations were done to the chief guest, special guest, VC of DBU, Director of Media and Hostel Warden by Ms. Vijayalakshmi, Principal, S. Lal Singh Memoria Institute of Nursing, and Nehru Yuvakendra group.
The event concluded with refreshments/snacks arranged by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib.
