" World Water Day" is celebrated on March 22 every year to highlight the importance of water. The tradition has been continued since 1993. According to the United Nations website, more than 2.2 billion people live without access to safe water. The principal focus of World Water Day is to support the achievement of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 6, which is to ensure safe water and sanitation for all by 2030.
The Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, Education of Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh celebrated World Water Day on March 21st, 2022 to make its students aware of the importance of water and the measures to save it so that the coming generations may not face water-related problems. The Director, faculty members, and students were present on the occasion.
The Director, Dr. Devinder Kumar, appreciated the faculty members and students for organizing this activity. In his address, he said that life would not be possible without water on this beautiful planet.
In her vote of thanks, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Head of the Department of Education, appreciated the efforts of faculty members and students in organizing the event. She said that water conservation is the need of the hour. If we go on wasting it, future generations will die of thirst. She encouraged the students to conserve water.
